Scandal, Archer, Parks & Rec, Weekend Picks

The week’s movies didn’t really get our blood pumping, so it’s another minireview-packed show.

How’s Scandal doing at delving into the operatic without losing us? Was Archer’s season-long reboot a success? Parks & Rec has enjoyed a long run as (in Logan’s opinion) the best comedy on TV–can it keep it up?

In weekend picks, we’re excited about the return of Louie, and amused at the return of 24(!). Bob considers making a statement and NOT choosing The Amazing Spiderman 2. Maybe Walk of Shame instead? We’ll see . . .

Transcendence, Parenthood, Weekend Picks

It’s that (decreasingly?) rare treat–a movie Logan and Bob disagree on! See which of us likes Transcendence more, and why.

Logan mini reviews the fourth season of Parenthood. He never feels more white than when he watches it, but that’s not necessarily all bad.

In weekend picks, Logan’s got his eye on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Bob gives the nod to the movie The Machine.

Justified, Shameless, Adult World, Weekend Picks

It’s an expanded slate of mini reviews this week! Why was this season of Justified not up to its usual high standards? Why was this the best season of Shameless yet? How does Adult World pull off its edgy premise?

In Weekend Picks, we talk about the Fargo TV series, the new season of Orphan Black, and we’re leaning towards Transcendence for next week’s movie.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier, How I Met Your Mother, Weekend Picks

Captain American is one of the best comic book movies we can remember in a while. How do you compare a good comic book movie to a different kind of movie?

The How I Met Your Mother finale was last week, and Logan mini-reviews the final season. Also, we talk about which seasons you should see, if you’re not going to see all of them.

In weekend picks, it’s Mad Men for TV, and we talk about a bunch of indie movies. Catch us on twitter for the final choice.

Noah, TV Recaps Announced, Weekend Picks

Aronofsky doing Noah certainly gives us plenty to talk about! How true to the (Christian!) Bible is the story? Does the trippy style work?

Then, we choose our next two TV shows to recap: Game of Thrones and Mad Men. This’ll be a fun couple months!

There’s plenty to talk about in our weekend picks, too. HBO bombs us, with Veep and Silicon Valley coming back alongside Game of Thrones. And is it popcorn movie season already? Captain America: The Winter Soldier says yes.
